The U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre (UNMICRC) is a grant–in–aid autonomous institute promoted by the Government of Gujarat as a public trust with 1251 beds capacity. The Institute is affiliated to the BJ Medical College, Civil Hospital Campus, Asarwa, Ahmedabad.
In UNMICRC, emergency related tertiary care cardiac treatment is rendered to all classes of cardiac patients particularly the poorest of poor cardiac patients. The Institute is a teaching, research, academic and unique charitable institution which runs various patient benevolent free cardiac treatment schemes.

યુ.એન.મહેતા ઇન્સ્ટીટયુટ ઓફ કાર્ડિયોલોજી એન્ડ રીસર્ચ સેન્ટર, અમદાવાદ એ ગુજરાત સરકારશ્રીની ગ્રાન્ટ ઇન એઇડ સ્વાયત સંસ્થા છે જે ૧૨૫૧ બેડની અદ્યતન સુવિધા ધરાવતી કાર્ડિયાક હોસ્પિટલ જે બી.જે.મેડીકલ કોલેજ, અમદાવાદ સાથે સંલગ્ન છે.
યુ.એન.મહેતા ઇન્સ્ટીટયુટ ઓફ કાર્ડિયોલોજી એન્ડ રીસર્ચ સેન્ટર એ કાર્ડિયાક ઇમરજન્સીસેવા આપતી સંસ્થા છે. આ સંસ્થામાં કાર્ડિયાક સારવાર લેવા માટે ગરીબ અને અતિ ગરીબ તેમજ મધ્યમ વર્ગના લોકોને વિનામૂલ્યે તેમજ રાહત દરે, સરકારશ્રીની વિવિધ યોજનાનો લાભ આપતી કાર્ડિયાક સારવાર આપતી સંસ્થા છે. આ સંસ્થા સારવાર આપતી સંસ્થા સાથે સાથે કાર્ડિયાકને લગતાઅલગ-અલગ અભ્યાસ ક્રમ ચલાવે છે અને કાર્ડિયાક રીસર્ચ સેન્ટર પણ છે.
આ સંસ્થામાં એપ્રેન્ટીસ એક્ટ અન્વયે ૧૯૬૧/૧૯૭૩ (વખતો વખતના સુધારા મુજબ) મુજબ તાલીમાર્થીઓને તાલીમ આપવા માટે વૉક ઇન ઇન્ટરવ્યુ રાખીને તાલીમાર્થીઓને જુદા-જુદા ટ્રેડમાં નીચે મુજબની લાયકાત ધરાવતા ઉમેદવારોને આવકારી રહી છે.
